Apparently you are not the only fan of this book, check this blog-item of Brian, apparently it was the best selling book at the last JavaOne for the second year in a row !!
As for myself, I already own a copy, just haven’t had the time to fully read it. But the parts I did read seemed very thorough indeed

Thanks for this article. I like your blog but I’m quite new to parallel programming. Could you write an entry with a list of “books to get started with parallel computing” that you like?

I would dearly like to see a list of practical as well as academical books on this topic.
